I've long been looking for a proper place where I can express my political views in an honest and civil fashion, while keeping things open for contributions by my opposite opinion friends.
So, by necessity, on 5 November, 2024, this was the FIRST category that I added in our Chat-Blog Community.
I believe it is simply THAT important.

Social media such as FaceBook, X, and Instagram have become toxic for me—algorithms, Ayn Rand level takeover, A.I. fueled bots that eavesdrop and power the real time selling of personal preferences, OY! What a propaganda wasteland!
One of the best things that I’ve done in YEARS is to have rid myself of that miserable machine of psyche trauma. And what is taking its place? The answer for me is my WIESTWORLD Chat-Blog Community.
So, “The New World” as a category will be my forum to collect and disperse news items by others and articles that I will write that speak to my personal political disposition.
I invite YOU to join the conversation in an enlightening and CIVIL manner. I want to express myself and LEARN from what you have to offer. In so doing we ALL might just learn something!
I want this to be as if we were meeting IN PERSON analog-style for coffee, conversation,
and/or pints! Let’s get HUMAN Y’all!

Nearly every morning now I have breakfast while watching the opening monologue of the Late Night With Stephen Colbert Show. Witty, HILARIOUS, and quite often profound, it sets my day off just right. Maybe you will like it too? I will send them out regularly.

EVERY SINGLE DAY!!
This category is for the person who–aside from my family–is the most influential and important soul in my entire life: Maynard Ferguson. I was a member of his band from 1981-1985, and then again in 2006, and have been a part of his family from 1981 to the present times.

To paraphrase what my friend Robert Lamm sang about Terry Kath in his song “Out of The Blue” and to insert Maynard’s name in place of Terry’s:
​
“It’s been a while since Maynard turned to go. It’s startling how often he is in my dreams. Which seem contemporary.”
​
I will muse about “Boss” (Denis DiBlasio’s nickname for Maynard that stuck…so much so that all of us use it as a term of endearment) his life and his music here, and post videos of his electric talent… so that he will always be remembered. His legacy is precious to me, and I will do all that I can to preserve it.
