Today is Tuesday, November 12: 2024, Old USA: New Chicago. INCREDIBLY it has only been seven days since the world changed... BIG TIME! And also incredibly... I have survived! WOO HOO!! How are YOU doin? Needless to say (but it is REALLY nice to say it) I am SO glad you are here at WIESTWORLD. We need community now more than ever.
And how will I celebrate this auspicious milestone? By doing what folks my age tend to do... go have some minor surgery! WOO HOO!
In the midst of all of these surprising events...
(an unforeseen snafu in the great American Experiment that will soon correct itself or the beginning of the end with a ghoulish race to the apocalypse? Amazingly BOTH things –and all points in-between–are possible. YOU get to pick!)
...I merely have a long-postponed wisdom tooth extraction this morning (results to follow) I'm actually looking forward to the anesthesia! Afterwards, I shall sip my broth and continue writing this article that has been simmering in my brain all night... along with some SERIOUSLY bizarre dreams.
But...I SURVIVED! Did you? I hope so. And I look forward to hearing YOUR stories! That's what this here WIESTWORLD Chat-Blog Community is all about. So please share on the comments section of this here wee missive...
OK...cuppa things. It is now the day after the tooth extraction and all is well...with my tooth. I am starting to get my footing and figuring out what I need to do in this upright and mobile position. It will be a lot of work, and it will be hard work.... but as the person I was SURE we would elect to usher in The Age of Aquarius liked to say: "Hard work is GOOD work!"
And so it goes...
Last thought for today: a dear friend bemoaned to me in an email yesterday that he wasn't ready to join our li'l hang here at WIESTWORLD just yet. His reasoning was he didn't want to just surround himself once again with only people who think like he does.
VERY wise words, and I agree 100%.
So, some enlightenment as to who exactly hope I hope joins us in our Chat-Blog Community
People of the left who wanted Kamala Harris to be president who are heart broken and scared and would like a SAFE place to talk
People of the right (even stone-cold MAGA) who are thrilled and want a SAFE place to talk.
People who voted for Trump for a very specific reason and are already feeling some "sticker shock" ....and are looking for a SAFE place to talk
Deep thinkers
Li'l stinkers (read the Code of Conduct please!)
Space Cowboys
Smokers and Tokers
Those who speak of the pompousness of love
ALL who want a SAFE place to talk!
I ADORE a good and civil conversation between people who disagree on something and LOVINGLY want to vocalize their position. Almost always....I end up learning something.
Such a deal!
Of course we've known each other for a half century (next year). Interestingly, as you are making full use of the written word here, our very 1st meeting was in an English 100 level "creative writing" class! I clearly remember that our professor had us exchange a writing assignment with classmates and you (randomly, as fate would have it) were the recipient of mine..... which happened to be about an astral projection experience. You brought it to me at the end of the class inquiring, "Did this really happen"? Within 3 years we would be living together, playing in a jazz combo for several years and establishing a life long (albeit estranged) friendship! I therefore have a unique perspective…
