For decades, Steve Wiest has been appearing as a guest artist at festivals, on university and high school campuses, with pro groups, directing all state jazz ensembles, writing custom music for all types of genres, and recording all over the world. His inspirational and fun approach to artistry and education instantly puts everyone at ease and invites the audience to be a part of the party.
It is my great joy to perform with all types of ensembles at all levels as a guest artist. For me, a presentation or “clinic” –be it on improvisation, trombone, or composition– is yet another opportunity to spread joy, inspiration, and good times. I have been doing this ever since my days with Maynard and have been all over the world working with some of the most talented students on the planet and a host of unbelievable pro groups as well as speaking at events and conventions of all types.

Hey look! That’s me with my trusty horn “Excalibur.” We have one mission: making wonderful music with and for one-and-all.
Steve is in high demand as an exciting trombone soloist with pro bands of all types, his own small groups, university and high school ensembles, his rock group Vinyl Hampdin, and pro horn sections. As part of his visit, Steve can conduct master classes and clinic presentations on improvisation, trombone playing, and/or composition.
