Time to Celebrate
One of my favorite tunes from the 1970s was Rare Earth’s iconic I Just Want to Celebrate. So of course when it came to arranging something for my all-star group Vinyl Hampdin, this was one of the first things I chose. And MAN did this group tear it up or WHAT!
Vinyl Hampdin RED Personnel:
Lisa Dodd: Vocals
Ryan Davidson: Guitar
Stockton Helbing, Drums
Gerald Stockton: Bass
Eric Gunnison: Keyboards
Frank Greene: Trumpet
Steve Wiest: Trombone, Composer, Arranger
Ray Herrmann: Tenor Sax
Art Bouton: Bari Sax
Phil “Prince” Bulla: Sound Engineer
Andy LaViolette: Videography
And the lyrics?
Well, I can’t be bothered with sorrow
And I can’t be bothered with hate, no, no
I’m using up the time but feeling fine, every day
That’s why I’m telling you I just want to celebrate
Oh, yeah
Good stuff, man!❤️
